Isleworth School Field of Remembrance

In Room 3 we have been making crosses as part of an initiative from the Ministry of Education to create a Field of Remembrance to commemorate the New Zealanders who served and lost their lives in service of our country. The names on each cross are from local men who died in service.

We will also be selling Poppy stickers From 8:30am Friday morning and having a special Assembly to commemorate ANZAC Day. We hope to see you there.

Collaborative Maths in Action

I just had to snap a picture of this collaborative group in Wairere maths today.  If there was sound, you would be able to hear the group at the round table independently discussing all sorts of clever maths strategies and debating which strategy would be the best for solving the problem.  While this was going on, the rest of the group were concentrating hard on their learning with their teacher, Mr Ritchie.  Fantastic.
Remember, we are happy for you to come and have a look at our collaborative teaching and learning in action. Please contact us first to arrange a good time to see us at work.

Ooooo... It's getting exciting! Term Two is Almost Here!

Howdy holiday-makers!
Not many sleeps to go now until you are back with us!
Just a shout out to bring any big plastic fizzy bottles if you have any spare.  Mrs S is collecting them... not telling you why yet!  I also need chuckaway plastic coffee cups if you have any.
See you on Monday :-)
