Apeta plays league for Papanui Tigers. Two weeks ago he was awarded player of the day for his awesome stepping skills. Apeta plays in the U11s and this is his third year playing league. With the certificate he gets a free burger from the Northlands mall.
We are a lively group of learners in Years 5 and 6. (That makes us 9 - 11 years old). We attend Isleworth School in Christchurch and we LOVE it! GO US! If you like what we are up to, please let us know by commenting on our posts.

Time to Shine
Hifo is holding her family trophy. Each year her extended family meet and have competitions. They play touch and have relays and lots of fun. Last year Hifo's family won the trophy so they get to keep it until the next meeting. We thought it was a great way to spend quality time with whanau. The "M" stands for Maamaloa.
Time to Shine
Today Kya brought her dog Angel to school for Time to Shine. Angel is a mini schnauzer. Although she is only three years old she is fully grown. Angel is mischievious and at home she is the boss.

Measurement Begins
We're back and raring to go for Term 3. Check out the maths groups, who started maths lessons today by learning to measure accurately. We made playdough that was soft and squishable!

Please write in your diaries that our Year 6 children are walking to Breens Intermediate on Wednesday 29th July. (The letter went home today). Every year, we pop down and meet the principal, Brian Price. Then we have a play in the Technology rooms. It's a taster for next year and the children attend,
even if they might be thinking of attending another intermediate.

Time To Shine in Week 11
What a treat we had today! We had another varied selection of Wairere students' interests.
Abbey bought her beautiful dog to school, Bodhi. Bodhi is a rough-coated collie, or lassie dog. Abbey has had her special friend, Bodhi for 2 1/2 years. Her family got him from Dog Rescue. They have taught him lots of tricks... he even knows sign language! Abbie has lots of fun with him.

Nicholas bought along the drift trike, he and Apeta share. It was sooo cool! Nick showed us how he can drift and spin about. He told us that he even takes it to the bike park and can go up and down the hills on it!
Sophie attends St John Ambulance. At the start of every session, the cadets go through a drill. Sophie taught us some moves...."At ease", "Attention!", "Right Turn", "Right Dress"
The cadets all learn first aid and sometimes participate in competitions. It's great to know that Sophie will able to save us if we pass out!
He tino pai hoki koutou!
