Our Year 6 Tamariki Visit Breens

We had a brisk walk to Breens today, where Principal, Brian Price welcomed us.  Then we split into groups and experienced the Technology classes.
 Making snow in science.
We had to stir the chemicals and they turned into fluffy snow!
Decorating pens in Fabric and Fibre.
Here are our photo frames that we made in Hard Materials.
 Printmaking in Art.
Biscuit shaping and decorating in Food Tech.
We really enjoyed our experience at Breens today and appreciate the opportunity for our children to visit and to feel a bit more confident about going to a new school next year.

Time to Shine

Here you can see one of Ethan's Lego creations. It is Santa's sleigh. Ethan collects Lego and he loves making things.

Time to Shine

Dannielle brought her 7 month old Tabby cat in for Time to Shine today. Her name is Mingming. This is the Filipino word for cat. She likes to play with boxes and she is very impatient when it comes to meal time.

Breens Visit Reminder

Kia Ora whanau
I have just checked Christchurch weather for tomorrow and the forecast suggests that it is likely to rain tomorrow around lunchtime, when our Year 6 tamariki are due to walk to Breens.  Please ensure your child has a rain jacket.
Don't forget, Breens has its Open Evening tonight from 6:30pm, for you to get a feel for the school and meet the staff.

Time to Shine

Apeta plays league for Papanui Tigers. Two weeks ago he was awarded player of the day for his awesome stepping skills. Apeta plays in the U11s and this is his third year playing league. With the certificate he gets a free burger from the Northlands mall.

Time to Shine

Hifo is holding her family trophy. Each year her extended family meet and have competitions. They play touch and have relays and lots of fun. Last year Hifo's family won the trophy so they get to keep it until the next meeting. We thought it was a great way to spend quality time with whanau. The "M" stands for Maamaloa.

Time to Shine

Today Kya brought her dog Angel to school for Time to Shine. Angel is a mini schnauzer. Although she is only three years old she is fully grown. Angel is mischievious and at home she is the boss.
