There was a nervous excitement in the air today, as our six senior speech competitors delivered their speeches to the Rotary judging panel.
Danica and Sofia represented the Year 4's with their speeches on Stopping Smoking and Why is it so Hard to Find a Speech Topic? "Doing a speech was both exciting and scary," they said.Amelia and Ella were our Year 5 competitors. They spoke about Why Parents Should Have Limited Screen Time and Reasons to Stop Littering. "I thought it was a good experience. I pushed myself to try new things," said Ella
Year 6 student, Mahdiya, persuaded the judges to Reduce Their Fast Food Intake and Georgia asked them, Do I Really Need to Clean My Bedroom? "There were three people on the panel", said Mahdiya. "It was petrifying!"
"I agree," said Georgia. "I thought I was going to chuck!"
The judges will make their deliberations and share their decisions soon, so we wait with bated breath to hear if any of our students have made it to the next round. We would like to thank Sonya Harris for her part in organising the event.
